Jer 29:13 ~ You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.
Seeking with all your heart, what does it mean to you?
When we were little ones and we played hide n seek, if you were the "IT" person, you would go close your eyes tightly and sometimes even put your hands over our face to cover our eyes so not to be able to see anything and as the "IT" person you had to count out loud so everyone could hear you counting. When you reached the determined number you would announce in a loud voice, "ready or not here I come". Then you would begin your pursuit! You thought of a million hiding places and where everyone could be and you always went to the obvious places first, you know like where you have hidden before yourself. Now depending on your Hide n Seek territory, this game could last quite some time or not long at all. But it always seemed fun to seek after the last one who you just couldn't manage to find. You would seek here, you would seek there and just miss them it seems. Sometimes the game would end because you just couldn't find that last person and you gave up. Which always meant you were going to be the "IT" person again, because YOU COULD NOT FIND THE ONE YOU WERE SEEKING AFTER.
Have you ever felt this way in your spirit seeking? I have and quite frankly, if we were all honest I believe we would all say, we have been there before. Seeking after God only to give up after a little bit, saying I am seeking him, I am, I really am, but I just can't seem to find him. Then in your frustration get up and pursue something else, maybe TV or a game or the Internet or a good book.
I have found that at that time, at the point of I am not hearing anything, I don't feel the presence of God here in my seeking, it is at that point that I want to turn away and go do something else, that is when I have to press in a little harder and refuse to go on to something else. I press in to seek more of him, it becomes my heart cry to find him. I must connect, I must connect! Then I find him.
You know, He is there all the time, with you all the time. But it is moments of desperation cries of the heart that he reveals his heart to you.
I have read the Tommy Tenney books, God Chasers, God Catchers and the daily devotional for the God Catchers and have done the workbook that goes along with them. Great information. He talks about the hide n seek game but as he plays it with his daughter. How she is the "it" person chasing after her daddy and they are running and running and he is always just a few steps from her and then she will stop and say, OH DADDY and it melts his heart and then he turns around and begins to pursue her. I love to say, OH DADDY to my God and melt his heart. Then feel his presence all around me.
What have you been doing to melt the heart of your Daddy God? How does he respond?
Please feel free to respond on comments~
Blessings ~
