Remembering 7 years ago today!

There is not always a time in our lives that everyone can say I remember exactly what I was doing on such and such a date and at this time.
For me, my first remembrance was President Kennedy was shot. I was very young and in the second grade but I remember the day well as we learned about it in school and prayed. Then when my mom picked me up from school she was crying.
During the services that were held in honor of our President, neighbors came together at our home as we watched on TV the events of the day.
Other moments in the history of our great nation I remember are~
John Glenn being part of great strides in our space program.
The tragic assassination of Rev Martin Luther King. I had been at a school function and my dad came and picked me up early.
I remember one thing in common, great tragedy that brought our nation as a whole on our knees in prayer.
Seven years ago today, was no different in that fact, the tragedy that took place in our nation, brought us all together, regardless of our race, regardless of our beliefs, we were AMERICANS UNDER ATTACK. I was at work, a 911 center and we all sat in horror as many did that day as we watched the second jet plow into the tower. The phones went silent, then went wild and our lives were changed. Living and working very close to the Atlanta FAA building made our area a target. We were also Communications.
Many still have questions that will never be answered as many people do that have gone through a such a travesty. Many are still asking God, "why?". I don't think there is an answer other than there are evil people in this world. I do know this~
From Romans 8 ~
in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God is there always to help us more forward in all things. Our nation was founded on Godly principles and we have allowed others to strip these away from us, from our nation.
We must once again stand together in unity as a God fearing Nation and bring glory and honor back to God.
As you take time today in the 9:00 hour to remember those who unknowingly gave their lives, pray for their families remaining, pray for our nation, our government, pray for our leaders, our families, friends and neighbors. Pray for unity in spirit for our great country to stand together unity, as ONE NATION UNDER GOD.
Remembering always~

IN THE BEGINNING, GOD

1 In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6 And God said, “Let there be an expanse between the waters to separate water from water.” 7 So God made the expanse and separated the water under the expanse from the water above it. And it was so. 8 God called the expanse “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.

I am saddened today as the "switch" is being flipped on for the" Large Hadron Collider", somewhere in Sweden. As many as 2300 Scientists from 40 countries have worked up to 15 years trying to develop this Large Hadron Collider to "recreate" "the big bang" the is supposed to have created the earth.
Construction on the 17-mile long tunnel which is 328 feet underground began 14 years ago and has so far cost $5 billion.
Scientists hope the collider will shed light on things that have eluded researchers, Baker said, things they have been unable to see in experiments or describe with current models of understanding. For example, the way scientists understand the big bang suggests that the expansion of the universe should be slowing, Baker said, but in fact, it is expanding and accelerating outward. So they are hoping what might explain this. Similarly, researchers know nothing about what accounts for the rotation curves of galaxies, he said.Baker and his team are searching for something called the Higgs Boson, sometimes referred to as the "God particle." Scientists have theorized that the elusive Higgs Boson, if it exists, is what gives particles mass, but researchers have not found it. Baker has hopes that if it does exist, the Large Hadron Collider will help find it. You can read the entire article by clicking on this link~ http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-cthadron0910.artsep10,0,6923966.story

The $5 billion spent was only indicated in relation to the tunnel, no monetary amount has been listed for the Large Haldron Collider from what I read.

As I think of how all these scientist from 40 different countries have spent so much of their time and so much money spent all these years, I am literally brought to tears, struck with a deep remorse of valuable time and resources being wasted. They do this in the name of science to help possibly in fields of medicine and energy.
The writer here thinks of what could have been accomplished with that amount of energy from 2300 scientist from 40 countries working together for 15 years and at least $5 Billion dollars at their disposal~ Starving children could be fed, perhaps a cure for the aids virus, perhaps a cure for cancer. What about a watering system that can produce clean drinking water for countries that have issues getting water for drinking. Countries that need water to produce life sustaining crops.
Now, I understand $5 billion dollars doesn't do what it use to do, but trying to recreate the "BIG BANG"? Come on....the only big bang was created by man, to destroy, not to create.
I will leave you with how I began~

What do we need to do to get back there...or move forward

taken from ~2 Chronicles 7~
they worshiped and gave thanks to the Lord saying~
“He is good;
his love endures forever.”

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
taken from Psalm 27~
4 One thing I ask of the Lord,
this is what I seek:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
and to seek him in his temple.
8 My heart says of you, “Seek his face!”
Your face, Lord, I will seek.

1Ch 16:11
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always

Mat 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

Take the time to seek His face in all things. IN ALL THINGS, SEEK HIS FACE.
SEEK HIS HEART~
The key is in the seeking, for it is in seeking that He will be found and your love and passion for Him will be renewed.
Yes, it does take some effort on our part, is it worth it? Yes, in a simple word, YES!
Always placing Him first in all things simply allows all other things to fall in to their prospective places in correct order.

It all begins with prayer, a repented heart, looking to Him for His revelation everyday. Sometimes, each hour, and for some of us (me), every minute!

He is always faithful, always loving, always forgiving, always waiting for us.

Blessings~

Why DID We Lose It?

This morning I am compelled to write a bit more on this part 3.

Stop for a moment and think on this, why aren't we where we think we should be in our relationship with God?

I have found by talking to different people that it isn't that we ever meant for this change to occur, but with time and things that seem to be forever creeping up in our lives, time slips away.
Time does slip away from us. There was a song when I was a teenager about Time Slipping Away, those are the only lyrics I can remember about. (If I may add this, be careful about some of the "lyrics" sites out there for their ads are dispicable and definately not little eyes appropriate nor my eyes appropriate. )
Time is the culprit of many things gone wrong! But as a friend of mine has said many times, we all have 24 hours in the day. I will add that it is what we choose to do in that 24 hours each day that determinies what we get out of the day.
I choose to wake up each day with the gratefulness that I have one more day to make a difference in the world, one more day to know in the flesh, that while I am in the flesh, God loves me, just as I am. Not to say I should never change, but none the less, just as I am. The great part about that is that HE LOVES YOU JUST THE WAY YOU ARE AS WELL!
He loves us when we forget to spend time with him.
He loves us when we do things that aren't pleasing to him, even though it breaks his heart, he still loves us.
He loves us when we remember to spend time with him and that really makes his heart happy.
He IS STANDING AT YOUR DOOR, THE DOOR TO YOUR HEART< KNOCKING> CAN YOU HEAR HIM? GO ANSWER YOUR DOOR, HE IS CALLING OUT TO YOU NOW..........won't you answer......gotta run.............. someone's at my door..............

Renewing Spiritual Passion part 3

Continuing on......

"Why we lost it"..........

This I am sure of, it will again be different for everyone. Thinking once again on a relationship between a husband and a wife, a girl friend and a boy friend. When we become so comfortable with the person we share so much with it can become easy at some point and time to take the other one for granted. Oh, they will always be there, they will understand, they know what is going on in my head, they know I didn't really mean it THAT way, and so on and so forth. I am sure you understand what I am implying here. There is an old saying "Familiarity breeds Contempt". I would like to change that to "Familiarity breeds COMPLACENCY". Yes, we get all too complacent in our relationship and quit putting any effort in it at all and begin to slowly drift away. Farther and farther we drift apart, until we barely are aware they we see less and less of that person. At this time, we are not putting in any effort to make special time for them or any special place for them in our daily lives.
Well, my dear friends we do the same thing in our relationship with God. Once again, I stand or sit, before you guilty of this very thing.
The enemy will use every devise possible to lure you away from your close relationship with God. Time is something we don't have a tendency to give up to much of these days. We have to do this, we have to do that, we have to go here, we have to go there. Many things we have to do are ministry related and it takes time to do these things. We are busy with our church stuff, we are busy with our family stuff, we are busy with our work stuff, we are busy with everything. So when do I have time to spend even more time developing a relationship with when they already know I love them. God knows my heart, He knows I love Him, I do so much for Him, I volunteer, I do this, I do that! Sound familiar! Come on, be honest now, this is between you and Him and no one else. The enemy would like for you to think it is ok, because you are doing the will of God by working so hard for what you have been called to do, it is ok to not spend time with Him anymore because you are actually spending time with Him all the time when you are doing what He has called you to do.....Well think again or perhaps it would be better to say, pray again my friend.
So, basically, Why we lost it, we took it for granted and we became complacent.
We kept putting in off.
I will leave you with this......

Rev 3:15-22
14 “To the angel of the church in Laodicea write:
These are the words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the ruler of God's creation.
15 I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! 16 So, because you are lukewarm–neither hot nor cold–I am about to spit you out of my mouth. 17 You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. 18 I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.
19 Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest, and repent. 20 Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me.
21 To him who overcomes, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I overcame and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22 He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

We should never be just lukewarm in our relationship with God, but when we have done so, He always welcomes us back to Him. He IS standing at the door knocking, do you hear Him calling out to you? Listen for Him, seek His face. He STILL has so much for you~

Blessings~

Renewing Spiritual Passion ~ part 2

WHAT IMPORTANCE WAS IT TO US?

Following along the same path as "What We Had", I will say this;

We would wake up in the morning wondering about our love, in my particulars, I would arise each morning wondering what the day of the Lord held for me. Always looking for Him in everything, thus the importance of Him resided in everything for me. My day began as many of those in love began, wondering what to wear that would please Him, how to act that would please Him. If this was important to Him, if that was important to Him. Did my actions in response to this situation please Him or did it bring Him grief?

Somewhere, somehow, I lost this measure and became complacent in His presence as most of us do. Yes, I am not alone. And yes, it happens more than once in a life time, unfortunately. I stand before you guilty of this many times.

Psalm 62 ~

5 Find rest, O my soul, in God alone;
my hope comes from him.
6 He alone is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, O people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.

God is my HOPE
God is my ROCK and SALVATION
GOD is my HONOR
God is my FORTRESS
God is my REFUGE
HE IS MY EVERYTHING

Psalm 63~

1 O God, you are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
my soul thirsts for you,
my body longs for you,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
2 I have seen you in the sanctuary
and beheld your power and your glory.
3 Because your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify you.
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
and in your name I will lift up my hands.
5 My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

Are you in a place where the importance of God is lost in your life or maybe just pushed to the side?
Are you looking for something you once held so dear but can't seem to remember exactly what is was?
Are you not where you think you should be in life?

If you answered YES to even one of these questions I put this before you my dear friend~

Seek Him, Seek His face, with all that is within you~
Seek HIS FACE~ He WILL be found by you.

Blessings~

Worth Repeating from June 11, 2008

It is purposed for this to be continued at this time.....but I believe it must be restarted to do so...

Renewing Spiritual Passion

I have noticed recently that there seems to be a common topic being poured in to the people of God. Not just from the pulpit but from other forms of media as well.For the past month or so, the Holy Spirit has drawn me to focus on renewal of Spiritual Passion. So, if you are interested in following along with me in this journey please join as I learn to put myself aside and allow the Holy Spirit to teach and to help rekindle the flame of our Spiritual Passion for God.We begin~
Proverbs 8:17-21 I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me.With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity.My fruit is better than fine gold; what I yield surpasses choice silver.I walk in the way of righteousness, along the paths of justice,bestowing wealth on those who love me and making their treasuries full.
I love those who love me and those who seek me find me, those who seek me find me.Are you seeking Him? Show me your face Lord, show me your face, I want to see your eyes. Strengthen my legs that I may stand in your glory, show me your face Lord, I can make it to the end if I can see your face. To obtain something we once had, we must first realize what we had, what importance it had to us, why we lost it and what must we do to get it back.What we had~ many things run through my mind as I think on how to describe being "In-Love"!Of course it all depends on what age we are talking about when we first fell in love. For some of us it was at an early age and we had our crushes. But don't bother saying it is just a childhood crush. Your heart would pound through your chest when you even thought of him, sorry guys, I'm a female so I would be writing from a female perspective here! To see him, you could barely catch your breath. You would always do everything you could think of to look your best, wear his favorite color, wear his favorite fragrance. If he loved a certain sport you would try to learn what you could about it so you could impress him. You would do everything you could to find out all his likes and dislikes. You would avoid the "dislike list" as much as you could. Do we still avoid God's "dislike list" ? Or have we become callous to it?Do we still remember what he likes, what pleases Him? Do we please Him? Do we make the effort, the time, like we use to? Do we smile at the thought of Him? Does your heart race just to think of Him and to know what He has done for us and continues to do everyday?What we had~ a beautiful courtship, one that never had to end, one that He still continues. Maybe it is time for a God Date! Just You and Him.to be cont.......Blessings~
